An individual that communicates assertively knows how to manage expectations, craft meaningful messages, prepare for pushback, and build relationships that work for them. In this workshop, participants explore the negative thought patterns that lead to passive communication and how to overcome them.


  • Define assertiveness.
  • Compare assertive communication to passive, aggressive, and passive-aggressive communication.
  • Identify speech weakeners and strengtheners.
  • Practice the five skills of assertiveness.
